Career Receipts is a daily work logger. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The guiding principle: your work log is yours. You can export or delete it at any time.
You sign in with Google or Apple. We receive a stable account identifier and your email address from that provider so we can recognize you and link your entries to your account. We never receive your provider password.
On your device: the work entries you write (the "what you did" and "why it mattered" text), AI-generated value statements and review drafts derived from them, your first name, and your reminder time.
On our server (so your log is backed up and available across your devices): your account identifier and email, and your entries (raw text + AI-derived fields), kept in sync with your device.
Our server data is hosted on Cloudflare and encrypted at rest. Access is gated per-account; we do not read your entries except as needed to operate and support the service, and we never sell them.
To generate the AI features — the follow-up question, the value statement, and the review draft — the relevant entry text is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service, which forwards it to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) solely to produce that result. Only the text needed for the requested feature is sent; your name is not. Anthropic processes the text to return a result and, under its commercial terms, does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models.
We collect anonymous usage analytics via PostHog — events only (e.g. the app was opened, an entry was logged). It never includes the content of your entries or your name. We do not track you across other apps or websites and use no advertising identifiers.
Career Receipts is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
